Dipping Tires and Toes

Ella and I took Dave to High Island today to dip his tire in the Gulf. He also dipped Ella's toes. After he headed out toward Huffman (destination for today), Ella and I rode down to Crystal Beach. We had not seen all of the destruction from Ike. The pictures did not do it justice and there has been lots of clean-up and rebuilding in 8 months. I looks totally different and it won't ever look the same.

Ella and I met up with Dave just before Anahuac, in Anahuac and then at I-10 and FM 563. There was a little rain, but Dave thought it was no big deal and continued on his journey. He will call me just before Huffman and I will pick him up and he will continue from that point on Saturday morning.

Ella, Ella--I'm Not A Fella

Ella is my 3 month old grand daughter. She has beautiful blue eyes and red hair. She loves for you to talk or sing to her (she tries to talk and sing back). She loves to sit in your lap and sit with Dave while he plays the piano or eat. Will (her big brother) is starting to call her "E". He is very sweet to her.

Will's new words....

My grandson Will is learning more and more new words. Earlier this week he learned "shoe" or "sue" as he says it and today he called me on the phone and said "hey", "bunny" and "duck". It was very exciting. He adds these new words to his collection of "mom" used to tell anyone that he wants or needs something. He also says "poon" for spoon, "ball", "dog", "no" ("no" can be said in many tones and as a question or a declaration), "mine" and his Papa D says that he can say "grandfather"; although no one else has heard this word. We love Will and his sister Ella (who sings)very much and delight in every little thing they do. We are very blessed that they live so close and we get to see them alot.

Adventure Begins in 15 Days

Dave and I are getting excited about our travels that begin May 30. Dave will leave on his bike on May 30. I will meet him that evening at Huntsville State Park. The next day he will travel on toward Duncan, OK for the start of the Oklahoma Freewheel Bicycle Ride that begins June 7. I will return home for that week of May 31 to June 6 to keep Ella. On June 6 I will travel to College Station for the wedding of my friends, Dustin and Macie. On the 7th I will drive to Apache (was supposed to be Anadarko--but they were damaged by a tornado), Oklahoma to catch up with the OK Freewheel and Dave.
